Iran Resumes Flights To Iraq

IRNA: Iran has started commercial flights from Tehran to Iraq, the first since the Islamic Revolution in 1979. A Mahan Air flight landed in Baghdad on October 14th.
Mahan Air will operate three weekly Tehran to Baghdad flights. The airline also plans services form the northern city of Mashad to Baghdad and to Najaf one of Shia Islam's holiest cities. An international airport recently opened in Najaf the focal point of religious tourism in Iraq. The majority of pilgrims visiting Iraq are from Iran.
