Georgia Hosts Strategic Communications In Tourism Conference www.tourcom.ge TOURCOM” – Eastern Europe and Central Asia: Conference on Strategic Communications in Tourism, will be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, on September 25-26, 2007. Organized with the support of the Department of Tourism and Resorts of the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, this important event will be held for the first time for the region of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This important event will look at how improved communications can help pave the way for a brighter future for tourism. It will bring together high tourism decision-makers, tourism communicators and executives from public and private sectors, and the media – business and travel journalists, broadcasters and editors. The Conference seeks to: • improve relationships between the tourism industry and the media;• raise awareness about the need for skilled professional communications in the tourism industry;• strengthen the National Tourism Administrations communication capacity;• share know-how of image building, branding, recovery after crises;• touch upon the latest developments in tourism communications. Prior to the Conference on September 24, the First Biennial Golden Fleece Travel Film Festival will be launched focused this year on promoting the wise use of environment and respect for nature and cultural traditions. Travel film makers, National tourism administrations and tourism sector are wholeheartedly invited to take part in this international travel films contest.
