Internet’s lifeline to Baghdad Museum

|
www.baghdadmuseum.org For a country where the cultural infrastructure is shot to pieces,
the internet is a precious resource. The Baghdad Museum Project catalogues the Iraqi museum’s looted and surviving treasures, such as the 8th-century BC ivory head found in the ancient city of Nimrud and now the project’s signature image. It also includes artefacts housed in the British Museum and new York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. Never mind that some entries are as dry as a sunbaked lizard, images of 7,000-year-old terracotta speak for themselves.
