An exciting action-packed itinerary will keep the whole family enthralled from start to finish – absolutely no bored kids on this holiday! Dragoman Overland’s 14-night Moroccan Family Adventure departs Marrakech 16th and 30th July and 13th August 2007. The first two days are spent in an elegant merchant’s riad (traditional Arab house) in Marrakech - this is the home of ancient souks in a fascinating city. The tour then crosses the Atlas Mountains to Ait Benhaddou to explore the stunning kasbah and hike through the vast Todra Gorge and palmery. A sunset camel safari into the Saharan dunes follows. There aer Berber meals under the stars and a visit to the oasis town of Ouarzazate before crossing the Anti-Atlas to Taliouine. After navigating the spectacular Tizzi-n-Test Pass there is a relaxing time at the pool at a French-style mountain auberge. Next up, visitors stay at Kasbah de Toubkal mountain lodge under Mt. Toubkal. Situated on the edge of the Toubkail National Park it was developed to provide the best available accommodation, using local produce and labour, whilst actively teaching guests about local culture and traditions – there are also a number of community projects for families to get involved in. The more energetic in the party can trek up Mt. Toubkal (4,167m), North Africa’s highest mountain, or set lower sights and take rewarding gentle hikes. The final 2-nights are spent in the colourful port of Essaouira which offers plenty of watersports facilities as well as great beaches to relax. The final night is spent in Marakkesh with a group meal before the flight home.
