Children Can Get Essential Exercise On Moroccan Adventure

www.familiesworldwide.co.uk  A recent study found only one in ten children achieve the current UK recommendation of one hour exercise per day. The Department of Health is considering a review of its guidelines following new research by Professor Lars Bo Anderson, Norwegian School of Sports Sciences in Oslo, recommending at least 90-minutes of daily exercise.

Families Worldwide provide active and adventurous holidays for the whole family and offer an alternative to a Half Term week of X-Box, GameCube or Wii, getting kids active amongst Morrocco’s Atlas Mountains during an 8-day family holiday filled with exploration, fun in the sunshine and well over 90-minutes of exercise per day! A Walk in the Western Atlas departs London 20th October 2007.

Starting and ending in the quaint walled city of Taroudant, 40-minutes from the airport, this tour has been very popular with families seeking something a little different.

It is possible to explore an undiscovered walking area amongst walnut, banana and olive groves, beautiful villages and valleys nestled in the High Atlas peaks in an area seldom visited by tourists, and for the weary, mules are on hand to carry bags and children!

From these heights, there are stunning views across the landscape. Colours vary from green valleys to rocky red mountains with peaks dusted by snow.

This is followed by a visit  to a remote Berber villages and a night in a remote mountain riad. The only noises to break the silence are goat bells and the call to prayer. Accommodation is provided in simple village houses, offering an insight into the lives of the people. So who needs Play Station?
