B&G Hotels & Resorts, the leading Egyptian hotel management company, has announced the signing of an exclusive franchising agreement with Germany’s REWE Touristik Hotels & Investments (RTH) Group, a subsidiary of REWE Group, to launch three international hotel brands in the Arabian Gulf region. B&G Hotels & Resorts will now be the sole franchisee of premier hotel brands including Calimera Active Hotels, LTI International Hotels and PrimaSol Hotels.
RTH is part of the REWE Group, which achieved revenues of 42 billion Euros for 2005 and also partly owns Germany’s renowned airline LTU. By partnering with RTH, B&G Hotels & Resorts will be able to leverage the brand value of the entire REWE Group and internationally renowned LTU portfolio, which has built an excellent reputation over the years in the field of hospitality, travel and tourism.

REWE Group’s tourism arm REWE Touristik holds a 100 per cent stake in LTU Touristik, the first German consolidated tourism group that is a part of LTU airline. REWE Touristik also owns 40 per cent of shares in LTU airline, which carries more than 5.9 million passengers every year. LTU was founded in Frankfurt in 1955, bearing the name “Lufttransport-Unionâ€Â, and today more than 70 airports worldwide are served by LTU aircraft.
