World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi‘, the first event of its kind to be held in the Arabian Gulf, will provide a platform for leaders in the tourism and hospitality fields to evaluate responsible investment in the environment through sustainable means, say those close to the industry.
World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi, set to run from 22-24 November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) when it will make it’s debut in the capital, is already striking a chord with global and regional leaders dedicated to the development and investment of sustainable tourism.
By 2011, the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority aims to issue a green rating to all of the emirate’s hotels and hotel apartments as part of its classification system in line with the green rating system issued by the Urban Planning Council.
‘‘This is a great opportunity for key leaders in hospitality and tourism to meet and discuss the challenges facing the industry and how ‘green‘ initiatives can be integrated into our future business,“ said Thierry Bertin, VP Sales and Marketing, Hyatt International, South West Asia.
“Any opportunity that provides a platform for industry executives to get together and debate, discuss how we can form, implement and promote a greener society in line with the vision of the Abu Dhabi Government on sustainable practices is always a good thing as it will help shape the future of the hospitality and tourism industries,” said Bertin.
Hyatt Capital Gate, adjacent to ADNEC, looks set to become one of the region’s most significant hotel developments with a sleek, contemporary design that has incorporated the latest glass and architecture technology in order to become an eco-efficient property.
This 5 star luxury property will feature a sky lobby on the 18th floor, some 80 meters above the city and 189 guestrooms and suites all with individual views of the city and coastline.
Soon to be located on Saadiyat Island is the new Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi with its nine-kilometre stretch of pristine natural beach, where guests can watch dolphins and experience the undisturbed beauty of the indigenous Hawksbill turtle-nesting habitat.
Set among natural wetlands, waterways and mangroves, Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi, situated on the Northern part of Saadiyat Island will be located just 10 minutes away from Abu Dhabi Centre and the Corniche and just 25 minutes from the famous Formula One Yas Marina circuit racetrack and Ferrari World. |
