Royal Jordanian Airlines — a member of oneworld airline alliance — and airberlin, have entered into a codeshare agreement that will add some points to the route network of both carriers. As of now, flight tickets on both airlines can be booked. The agreement applies to flights starting from 1st November 2011.
With the start of the winter flight schedule, Royal Jordanian passengers will be able to travel to a number of German and European points on airberlin flights, featuring Royal Jordanian flight numbers. In return, airberlin passengers will be able to book on RJ flights to Amman from Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Vienna; the flights feature airberlin flight numbers.
Royal Jordanian President/CEO Hussein Dabbas said that Royal Jordanian is delighted to cooperate with its future oneworld partner airberlin, as this agreement “further increases connectivity options, through expanding our route network and giving our customers much better access to many more cities across Germany while, at the same time, helping them take advantage of better links to Northern Europe”.
airberlin's Chief Commercial Officer Paul Gregorowitsch said: “We are pleased to announce our first codeshare agreement together with an Arab airline, namely Royal Jordanian. Passengers flying Royal Jordanian will benefit from the cooperation in that selected destinations in Germany, Austria and Poland can, for the first time, be reached under a flight number shared with airberlin. Furthermore, this cooperation allows airberlin to further expand its presence in the Middle East.”
