An agreement was signed between the World Economic Forum (WEF) and Royal Jordanian whereby the airline becomes the official carrier for the international forum to be held at the Dead Sea between May 15 and 17, 2009.
President/CEO Samer Majali, who signed the agreement with Middle East WEF Director Sharif Al Diwany, said this is the fifth time RJ is selected to be the forum's official carrier since its first meeting in Jordan in 2003.
Majali stressed that the selection of Royal Jordanian comes in the context of having selected Jordan as the host of this important international meeting and in appreciation of RJ as a leading airline in the Middle East, with a solid international reputation for quality service and extensive route network.
The Industry Partnership between RJ and WEF, said Majali, has the advantage of granting facilities to the WEF participants and employees, in addition to the facilities offered at Queen Alia International Airport. It also involves RJ staff members giving assistance during the days of the meetings, manning sales and reservation offices at the forum and linking RJ website to the WEF's Internet page.
The forum's administration will be using RJ's name and logo on all the documents, printouts and brochures for the forum. Majali emphasized on RJ's keenness to sponsor such international events as an objective in itself, to encourage business tourism and attract the world's attention to the kingdom.
The company has been sponsoring the majority of prominent conferences and exhibitions held in Jordan for more than 40 years now.
