Opportunity Middle East January Issue
Five kilometres have been earmarked for investments on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea, with several world-class tourism facilities
are already operational and other plots reserved. To attract investors, the Jordan Valley Authority (JVA) implants the infrastructure work and leases plots of land to investors who can later purchase them. Spa development is a growth area around the Dead Sea. أ¢â‚¬إ“The rising number of customers, Jordanians and others, shows that this leisure line is a fast growing business in the Kingdomأ¢â‚¬آ, says Ayman Alamat, the manager of the 6,000 square metre Movenpickأ¢â‚¬â„¢s Dead Sea-based Zara Spa, the largest spa in the Middle East. The UKأ¢â‚¬â„¢s Wimberley Allison Tong & Goo (WATG) has designed the Movenpick Resort and Spa and the five-star Kempenski Ishtar Hotel, Resort and Spa while British companies have also been involved in the operation of the Movenpick Spa and staff training for the Jordan Valley Marriott Resort and Spa. Belavista Overseas Investment Corporation, a subsidiary of WATG Projects Limited in association with Jordanian partners, will develop a new luxury five-star international resort hotel and spa complex on the Dead Sea. Management for the multinational Dead Sea Beach Resort will be entrusted to an international management corporation.
Al Andalus Company for Touristic Hotel and Investments plans to accommodate cruising boats within its Regent Palace project. An initial management agreement has been signed with Regent International Hotels to run the project.
