An extensive promotion campaign preceded and accompanied the regional WEBEX (websites) exhibition, held from May 29th to 31st in Ammanأ¢â‚¬â„¢s Zara Expo Hall. Satellite chains, magazines and Arab newspapers participated in the exhibition, among them Islamic Tourism through its electronic website and the Jordanian newspaper "Ar-Ra'yأ¢â‚¬آ. The campaign attracted about 10,000 visitors from Jordan and neighbouring countries. There was a positive contribution from ministries and administrations in Jordan, especially through stands for the Prime Ministerأ¢â‚¬â„¢s Office and the Royal Court.
The exhibition was held under the Prime Minister's aegis and inaugurated by Mrs. Nadia As-Said, Minister of Communication, who emphasised the Jordanian governmentأ¢â‚¬â„¢s determination to develop "e-governmentأ¢â‚¬آ, which some Arab and foreign countries began to put in place.
Islamic tourism participated through an independent stand and issues of the magazine were distributed to visitors. Among the other participants were "Electronic Guide to Arab Law" which includes a collection of laws issued in Arab countries and the Islamic Web of Qatar whose slogan is : "The world of knowledge brought to your handsأ¢â‚¬آ. Fatwas and consultations are produced on demand.
Mr. Fady Cotayshate, the exhibitionأ¢â‚¬â„¢s promoter told Islamic Tourism that he was very pleased with the number and quality of visitors, and asked the Jordanian government for greater support for the exhibition. |
