www.allAfrica.com Figures recently released reveal that Tunisia 's tourism revenues have increased by 9% to 1,8 billion dinars for the January-August 2007 period in comparison with the same period in 2006. With 4,411 million visitors, tourism was up 3,7% from last year. It is expected that tourism will yield 3 billion dinars in 2007, representing an increase of 8,6% with 2006. Tourism is Tunisia 's top foreign currency earner, as well as the country's biggest employer. Last year the ministry of tourism launched a major upgrading campaign in the tourism service sector. Authorities also hope to cash in on the diversification of tourist activities, 'niche' tourism and the identification of new markets.
