Outbound from China (mainland) and Hong Kong this year growing in double digits! Ranked respectively first and fourth in Asia by international tourism expenditure, strong rebound of significant markets like China and Hong Kong is trend not to be missed!
In the first 10 months this year, revenue of air tickets sold and outbound businesses of travel agents in Hong Kong grew respectively by 36.5% and 35.3%! Such strong growths extend also to long haul destinations. For example, South Australia reported inbound from Hong Kong in the last financial year ending in June rose 43%!
What’s more, such strong growth will likely be continued! Also, another survey by an international credit card on 10502 consumers from 24 countries and regions found 58% of respondents from Hong Kong planning outbound travel in the coming 6 months. Official statistics said Hongkongers made 82 million departures in 2009!
In the first 9 months this year, China’s outbound rose 21% to 42.28 million. In the year up to August 2010, the number of Chinese visitors to UK increased 27% to 127,000. Also, arrivals from China to Asia-pacific destinations grew by 30% in the first half of this year, which may rise to 60 million in 2011 if current growth momentum continues. |
