Asia's leading travel expo provides you a platform to reach high quality visitors
Despite the financial crisis, we still target a double digits growth for ITE & ITE MICE. Among the 8 official pavilions with 20% growth or more so far, half are from outside Asia. Also, there will be new pavilions from Europe. New this year is the Health & Medical Tourism pavilion, which includes exhibitors from spa, clinics, hospitals, providers of wellness services.
As organizer of Asia's leading international travel fair held in China's richest city of Hong Kong, we would invite your company to take part the 23rd International Travel Expo, which will be held from 11 - 14 Jun 2009 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Respectively 15% and 20% of our 12900 buyers, trade and corporate visitors in the two professional days are from Asia and mainland China, and the rest from Hong Kong. Among them are 360 hosted buyers; 6800 from travel agents/operators, 3700 corporate visitors and some 600 from the trade and mass media. Also, nearly 70% of our public visitors traveled in FIT or tailored made groups.
In fact, there has been a growing interest from exhibitors on reaching out directly to our public visitors, who come mainly from Hong Kong and they are different in the following aspects: Over 100 countries and regions in the World grant Hong Kong citizen's visa free entry. Both Chinese and English are official languages and being widely spoken, not to mention Hong Kong has a very high GDP per capita and living standard in China, Asia or even in the World. In fact, Hong Kong citizens made 80.7 million departures in 2008 and UNWTO ranked the city 4th in Asia by international tourism expenditures in 2006 after Japan, mainland China and South Korea.
Latest figures reflecting Hong Kong people continue traveling despite financial crisis: (a) 1.49 million residents left the city between Jan 24 (SAT) and Jan 28 during the Spring Festival holidays, more or less the same as last year. (b) 2008 Hong Kong's outbound to Japan rose by 27.5% to 0.55 million, and becomes Japan's fifth largest source market
This year ITE will be held from June 11 to 14 at halls 1A to 1D while ITE MICE from June 11 to 13 at hall 1E of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. These five halls can provide a maximum of 20000 sqm of space or 30% more than last year.
