www.tehrantimes.com Iranian and German archaeologists plan to study a number of Elamite and Achaemenid earthenware items at Mainz University in Germany in the near future, the director of the team said .“The team will be using pedology to discover the techniques applied to produce the works,” said Mohammad-Amin Emami, adding, “They also intend to find out where the clay of the earthenware was obtained.”
The pottery was unearthed at Persepolis in Fars Province and at the ancient Elamite sites Haft-Tapeh, Anshan, and Chogha Zanbil in Khuzestan Province.
“Over 2500 years have passed, but archaeologists still do not know who taught the Achaemenids and Elamites how to make pottery. The team will also try to find an answer to that question,” Emami said in conclusion. |
