irna A Holy Qu’ran exhibition displaying calligraphy by two artists from Iran’s West Azarbaijan Province was held in Baku, Azerbaijan Republic in mid-November.
A number of Azeri and Iranian officials addressed the audience at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, on the Akhondov Library of Baku University. The exhibition features works by Iranian calligraphers Rasul Mullabahrami and Mohammad Baqer Ja’farzadeh.
The head librarian lauded the two Iranian artists during his speech. Later, a religious song praising the Qu’ran and the holy month of Ramadan was performed.
Fifty-works of Qu’ranic calligraphy by Mullabahrami and Ja’farzadeh and rare Qu’rans and Qu’ranic software are on display at the exhibition.
Speaking on the sidelines of the exhibition, Ahad Javedani, the managing director of the Islamic Guidance Department of West Azarbaijan, said cultural relations with Azerbaijan Republic are satisfactory.
The promotion of cultural cooperation between the two countries should pave the way for further expansion of relations in diverse fields since Iran and Azerbaijan enjoy longstanding historical, religious, and cultural ties, he observed. |
