An international workshop about the ancient Elamite era has been organizaed by Iran National Museum and Archeological Research Center to inform archaeologists and researchers about the history and development of the Elamite civilization.
"It will offer unique information about the influential role of the Elamite culture during the Achaemenian era," Hassan Fazeli Nashli, director of Iran's Archeology Research Center said.
The Elamite civilization, which was centered in the ancient city of Susa in Iran's Khuzestan Province, is considered one of the world's oldest civilizations.
Several archeological excavations have been also designed in ancient sites of Qaen and Zabol.
The archeological excavations will be officially started in the country's ancient city of Qaen in South Khorasan Province which dates back to more than one thousand years ago.
There is also a signed MoU between Iran and Italy in archaeological research to enable Italian archeologists help with Iran's Burnt City project which is a prehistoric site which thrived during the third millennium BC located near Zabol in Sistan-Baluchestan province.
The memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Rome National Museum of Oriental Art and the Italian Institute for Africa and the Orient (ISIAO).
