You can visit the website www.chnpress.com and get photos from there)www.chnpress.com Experts of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Department of Hormozgan province have categorized 6350 historical relics ranging in date from third millennium BC to Qajar dynastic era (1787-1921 AD). Announcing this news, Abbas Norouzi, deputy director of preservation and restoration department of Hormozgan’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Department, told CHN that these historical relics have been classified and transferred to the storage space of the Organization for being kept safely. Norouzi further explained that these 6350 objects are consisted of historical relics belonging to the other countries, anthropological objects, and artificial objects, all of which have been classified. Consisted of different historical relics including coins, earthenware and stone objects, and a number of cultural and artistic artifacts such as coins, statues, and paintings, belonging to other countries including India, China, European and Arabian countries, this unique collection ranging in date from 5000 years ago to 100 years ago. According to experts, these historical relics were kept in a very bad and risky condition and now with categorizing them, they have been transferred to a big storage space.
Among these objects, 4400 items have remained intact. According to Norouzi, a number of these historical relics will be put on show in architectural museum of Hormozgan which is going to be established in the ancient water reservoir of the city, known as Berkeh Baran (Rain Pond) belonging to Safavid dynastic era (1501-1736 AD).
