www.tehrantimes.com Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization (CHTO) director Esfandiar Rahim-Mashaii expressed hope that Iran would reach international standards in health tourism.
Speaking in the First Conference on Tourism and Health in Ramsar, Mazandaran Province, he added that the country is striving to utilize its potential in health tourism.
Criticizing the improper use of historical, cultural and natural attractions, he noted that there are new capacities in the tourism industry which can ensure the community's health development.
Referring to the tour of the cabinet to the northern province as a promising opportunity for the people, he added that the cabinet will introduce Ramsar as an exemplary tourism city.
The official pointed out that recognizing potentials for developing tourism industry is considered the major effort in this respect, adding that the country should have accurate information and publicity in the international arena to promote travel by foreign tourists to Iran.
The ninth government plans to identify exemplary tourism regions, he said, adding that the number of such attractions reached 122 and it will increase to 180 points at the end of President Ahmadinejad's tour to Mazandaran.
Turning to the identification of some 59 tourism points during the presidential trip to the northern province, he added that other organizations and ministries should play a decisive role in developing the industry nationwide. |
