www,tehrantimes.com Iran’s Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization will hold the first World Tourism and Handicrafts Conference with the cooperation of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
According to the public relations office of the World Tourism and Handicrafts Conference, tourism experts and authorities of 150 member countries of UNWTO will attend this conference which will be held from 13-15 of May 2006 in the conference hall of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) in Tehran.
In addition to providing the ground for cooperation between the private sectors of different countries to further develop the tourism industries in these countries, Iran’s natural, cultural, and historical potentials will be introduced to the participants during this conference.
Meanwhile, correspondents of tourism media from all around the world will come to Iran to cover the news of this conference. In addition, UNWTO is to nominate seven specialized correspondents from world tourism media to come to Iran a week before the start of this conference to take tours around Iran and take advantage of special programs provided by CHTO in order to get familiar with Iran’s tourism attractions and handicrafts.
According to the public relations office of the World Tourism and Handicrafts Conference, more than 15 international and regional experts from different countries including China, France, the United States, and Indonesia will deliver lectures about the interaction between tourism and handicrafts and the effects each has on the other. |
