www.tehrantimes.com Officials of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain are showcasing Iranian cinema through holding a retrospective of Iranian filmmakers’ works produced during the 1980s and 1990s .
The organizers of the program said that they aim to familiarize Spanish people with the motion picture industry in developing countries and introduce them to things not seen in Western cinema.
Mohsen Makhmalbaf’s “The Cyclist”, Abbas Kiarostami’s “And Life Goes On”, Amir Nader’s “The Runner”, Rakhshan Bani-E’temad’s “Narges”, and Bahman Qobadi’s “A Time for Drunken Horses” are among the films that will be screened in the program.
The first week will review Iranian cinema and Iranian films will be screened during the second week. The program will also be screening a retrospective of British director Jonathan Glazer’s commercials and music videos as well as several other films on the sidelines of the event. |
