Adrar (South-West of Algeria) -The 20th of March 2008-The 12th of Rabi Al Awal 1429. As the tradition goes and for the third successive year, Adrar in the south west of Algeria (1500 km of Algiers) was my preferable place to celebrate and commemorate such rich and sublime event, the fascinating moments spent in a spiritual environment in the hospitable Algerian Sahara and sooth to say that this year's celebrations of the Prophet Mohamed‘s (PBUH) Auspicious Birthday has no comparative terms.
It is well known that every year and starting from the blessed Hijri month of Rabi Al Awal celebrations of this awe-inspiring event gather an earnest momentum upon the Faithful inhabitants of this area known as Touat , such ancestral traditions are still kept and celebrations last for seven days (until the 19th of Rabi Al Awal).
It would be but worth recalling the famous statement of the Eminent Muslim Scholar of the XV Century Imam Jalal Udin Assuyuti who stated in his superb and high ranking work on the special characteristics of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in his book (Al Khasaisul Al Kubra):
"The only creature who was sad at the Birth of the Holy Prophet MOHAMED (PBUH) was the Satan".
