Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet is delighted to reintroduce Félix Murillo to the team after 15 years. "It’s so exciting to be back at this Hotel, and a wonderful time to be in Istanbul,” says Murillo, who was in charge of food and beverage operation in the opening team that transformed a century-old prison into the 65-room gem back in 1996.
Born in Madrid, he started his professional career as assistant chief steward at Four Seasons Hotel London in 1993 after completing his education in hotel management in Switzerland and further training in his hometown. Since 1993, he has held various responsibilities in operations and on the opening teams of many of the company’s leading hotels, including those in London, Istanbul, Chicago, Miami, Mexico City, Buenos Aires and most recently, Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus during his ongoing journey with Four Seasons.
Murillo undertook different responsibilities during his early career in food and beverage and was promoted to Hotel Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Mexico, D.F in 2005. Following two years in Mexico, he moved to Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires, where he also stayed for two years. In 2009 he came back to Turkey for the opening of brand’s second hotel in Istanbul, where he stayed as Hotel Manager until April 2011. Since May 2011, he has been serving as General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at Sultanahmet.
“Istanbul is a very sophisticated city, yet it maintains its mystique and profound historical value,” says Murillo, having a deep passion for the charming beauty of Istanbul and the historical peninsula.
