A 'Turkish Library for Each Country' Project

Zaman 22 March, 2004 As part of a project entitled, 'A Turkey Library to Each Country'
launched by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, 25,000 books have been sent to nearly 200 research centers in 100 countries. According to a statement issued yesterday by the Ministry, the project's goal is to spread the knowledge of Turkish literature throughout the world. Modern and contemporary publications will on Turkish culture and literature will be sent to libraries of major world universities, public-realtions agencies and the libraries of Turkish Studies departments. The project will depend on contributions from the private sector.
