State of Turkey’s palaces analysed

Zaman 31 January 2004 Bulent Arinc,
Speaker of Turkish parliament, stated that 80 percent of the National Palaces Chamber to the Parliament‘s project has been completed.
Arinc had last given information about the status of the projects at a press meeting on September 1, 2003. He declared that during the five months since his last report, the science and evaluation commission completed their study on bringing the palaces up to the required standards especially in terms of security, mold remediation and earthquake reinforcement.
Arinc also announced other projects that had been given the green light. A Museum of Industrial Vehicles will be established in Dolmabahce Palace within five months, and in eight months the Museum of Ottoman Music and the Parliamentary National Palace Chorus will be set up.
