Esin Celebi, the 22nd grandchild of famous Islamic intellectual and scholar Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, has expressed his family's happiness about the construction of the Mevlana Culture Center.
In addition to the family's happiness about the enthusiasm and amount of participation in the commemoration ceremonies that coincide with the anniversary of Rumi's death 730 years ago, Celebi sought to spread the message that humanity needed increasing unity more than ever.
Celebi thanked the state officials for their interest in this year's ceremonies and added: "I believe the state will give a nice message to people. The completion of the Mevlana Culture Center was my childhood dream. I thank everyone for their efforts. Let us remember Mevlana not for a day but for 365 days."
Celebi said our times affect people negatively but the Mevlana directs people to unity and the world needs his message of togetherness more than ever.
"I believe people have already started to reach that level of consciousness. Inshallah (God willing) every one, including me, will understand him better. The world and Turkey needs unity, togetherness, and love. For this, we need to understand Mevlana and for this reason participation in the ceremonies is greater than ever," concluded Celebi.
