Tamkeen is advancing its awareness campaign about careers in the Logistics, Manufacturing and Tourism sectors in Bahrain.
The careers awareness programme called "Discover Life at Work" was initiated in February 2011. During the first phase of this programme, the Logistics industry was under the spotlight. During the next month of September, the campaign will focus on the Manufacturing sector, followed by highlighting the Tourism sector.
Careers in the Logistics industry will be promoted through flyers, radio spots, e-newsletters as well as e-mail shots.
Later this year, Tamkeen is planning to organise a Careers Convention which aims at creating awareness about career opportunities in the three sectors among school and university students, fresh graduates, and generally for youth aged between 15 and 20 years. The Convention will feature Seminars by industry experts, interesting topics and speakers as well as an innovative exhibition.
As part of the campaign, Tamkeen published the "After School" magazine in April and 50,000 copies were distributed in schools and universities all over the Kingdom. The first issue focused on providing information about Logistics in addition to other topics related to youth, careers and academic life, focusing especially on students who are about to graduate. Subsequent issues will be published in September and October focusing on Manufacturing and Tourism sectors respectively.
It is worth mentioning that Tamkeen will be actively involved in providing career guidance and high level training and experience to develop Bahraini professionals in the Logistics, Manufacturing and Tourism sectors. This will be facilitated through training programmes supported by Tamkeen through its partnership with various educational institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
