Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has stepped up its marketing efforts through a joint branding initiative with Costa Coffee – Middle East. The advertising promotion, which is the first of its kind in the region, features Gulf Air branding on all Costa Coffee cups distributed in Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Oman giving the airline access to over one million coffee drinkers across the region.
The initiative was in partnership with the Jawad group, Costa Coffee’s regional franchise owner and it is the first time that coffee cup adverting has been used in the region by a leading global brand such as Gulf Air.
Pradeep Menon from MEC said, ”Advertising on coffee cups of renowned brands such as Costa is something that has not been done before in the region and we were delighted when Gulf Air agreed they would come on board and become the first company in the region to take advantage of this innovative advertising channel. Coffee cup advertising is one of the strongest media to reinforce a brand image and a message as thousands of people purchase it every day. The brand recall and retention among consumers will be high because on an average each coffee consumer takes 37 minutes to drink a cup of coffee.”
Shehab Abdulkhaleq Saeed, Senior Manager Marketing Gulf Air said: “We are always looking at creative ways to expose the Gulf Air brand to customers; so this joint-initiative with Costa was something we snapped up instantly. This initiative is the first in a series of our several innovative marketing activities to increase our brand awareness. We are very excited about the success we have achieved so far in engaging both our current customers, as well as attracting new customers. |
