Thailand promotes tourist attractions in Bahrain

Bahrain Tribune 18 April, 2004 Senior tourism officials from Thailand will be in Bahrain this month to extensively promote their country.
Thai Airways Bahrain Manager Mahmood Ali told the Tribune yesterday that the top brass of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thai Hotel Association, the Association of Thai Travel Agents and Thai Incentives and Conventions Association would hold a daylong road show at the Hilton Hotel on April 19.
“The show is a direct result of the recent high-level contacts between the two governments and Thailand’s keenness to promote itself in the Kingdom,” he said.
Ali said that tourism officials and representatives from well-known companies from Thailand would be at the road show. These include Aktiv Company Ltd., Bay View Village, Boon Vanit Travel Agency, Discover Holidays Ltd., Diethelm Travel (Thailand ) Ltd., Dusit Hotels and Resorts Company Ltd., Khaolak Tropicana Beach Resort, PB Tours (Thailand), Prestige Holidays Tours Company Ltd., Sunbeam Hotel Management Group and Thavorn Hotels and Resorts.
Ali said that Thai operates a 260-seat Airbus AB300-600 aircraft configured to 28 business-class and 232 economy-class seats. “Our presence in the Bahrain market came as a result of intense efforts by both sides, and we’re happy that this has become a reality.”
He said that Thailand had reciprocal arrangements with Lufthansa, United Airlines, Scandinavian Airlines, South African Airways, Air Canada, Varig Brazilian Airlines, BMI British Midland, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Lauda Air, Tyrolean Airways and Mexicana Airlines.
