Pakistan Seeks To Attract Chinese Tourists

www. app.com.pk Secretary Ministry of Tourism Shahid Rafi has said that if Pakistan attract and get 1 per cent share of Chinese outbound tourists it will be a great achievement as the figure stood in millions.
The Federal Secretary Tourism in an interview with China Radio International during his stay in Beijing said that there are many tourists attractions including scenic beauty, mountains, culture, archaeological sites, historical places, deserts, handicrafts, sports and also the famous Ghandhara civilization, in which Chinese tourists evince keen interest.
Shahid Rafi said that there was no dearth of tourists interest destinations in Pakistan and we are working to promoting these through various means including holding tourism promotion related events, hosting and attending exhibitions on tourism.
He said that to attract maximum foreign tourists, we are working on various proposals so that to further scale down the cost and also bring improvement in infrastructure and hotels and added that if we succeeded in addressing these basic problems, we would be successful in attracting a large number of tourists.
Referring his meeting with the Chairman, China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) Shao Qi Wei, Shahid Rafi said that it was very productive, as Chairman CNTA has in principle promised to meet our requirements submitted at the meeting.
These included support for training institutions run by Ministry of Tourism, training of trainers’ programme and provision of scholarships, so that Pakistani graduate could get higher education in tourism in China.
Details, of these requirements being worked out, he added.
He said that it is being predicted that in 2020, China will be the most favourable destination when billions of tourists visit here and added that the country has enormous and successful experience in tourism and Pakistan wants to capitalize it.
