The volumes of the tourist flow to Pakistan in 2005 increased by 23%. Within the last year 798,300 tourists visited the country. This figure exceeds the 2004-year- index by 150,000 people. The profit received out of tourism amounts $185.3 million. The majority of foreign tourists were from Europe (their number increased by 27%), the ISA, South-Eastern Asia, and Middle East.
The increase of tourist volumes is much accounted for by actions which the Pakistan National Corporation on tourism development undertakes in order to create the favourable image of the country on the world tourist market.
Pakistan is the country of the most magnificent landscapes in Asia, of numerous cultural traditions and extremely hospitable people. This is the land which can be considered the cradle of the most ancient civilization having all the reasons to challenge the palm from Egypt and Mesopotamia; the land where several religions – Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism come into contact. |
