Changi Airport and Jet Quay agree on tenancy extension

Changi Airport Group and Jet Quay Pte Ltd have agreed to a three-year extension of the latter’s tenancy to operate the JetQuay CIP (Commercial Important Persons) Terminal at Changi Airport. The tenancy renewal is effective on 1 August 2011.
The JetQuay CIP Terminal was introduced as a new concept of travel experience to passengers in September 2006. An elite terminal which provides personalised services such as limousine transfers from private jets to the terminal, buggy services to gate holdrooms, baggage pickup and delivery, and a personal shopper, JetQuay has been the preferred choice for passengers who appreciate the privacy and personalised services.
Following the economic recovery in 2009, JetQuay has seen a steady increase in the number of passengers using the terminal and requesting for its services. In 2010, JetQuay handled 55,000 passengers, an increase of 40% compared to the previous year. The growth trend is expected to continue, with more than 40,000 passengers using the facility in the first six months of this year.
The growing popularity of JetQuay coincides with higher traffic at Changi Airport and more visitor arrivals in Singapore following the opening of the two integrated resorts as well as the hosting of global events like the Formula One night race. These developments have resulted in an increase in the number of passengers who are willing to pay a premium for elite airport terminal services. Last year, more than 50% of JetQuay’s revenue came from private jet clients, including a number of internationally renowned celebrities.
As part of JetQuay’s efforts to bring its customers’ travel experience to a higher level, new facilities such as GST refund are being introduced and the Departure Immigration counter relocated to a centralised point for customers’ convenience and operational efficiency. These will be in place by end 2011.
Commenting on the renewed Changi Airport-JetQuay partnership, Mr Foo Sek Min, Executive Vice President, Airport Management of Changi Airport Group, said “At Changi Airport, we cater to a diverse group of customers and we seek to provide various options to suit their preferences. With the extended lease for JetQuay’s operations, passengers who prefer the extra comfort of being pampered and value their privacy can choose to use JetQuay for departure and arrival at Changi.”
Ms Koh Yi Xuan, General Manager of Jet Quay Pte Ltd, said “We are delighted that CAG is extending its partnership with Jet Quay. This will allow us to grow and develop further the unique service offered to customers traveling to and from Singapore either on commercial flights or private jets. We look forward to continue working closely with CAG and our other industry partners in anticipating our customers’ needs and delivering exceptional and unique service to them, to make their journeys seamless, relaxing and enjoyable.” |
