Alia Convex Jakarta organized the 4th consecutive global event the International Islamic Expo 2008 - The 4th Alrawda Umrah-Hajj & Islamic Tourism on 21st - 24th February, 2008 in Jakarta - Indonesia.
The event was officially covered by Islamic tourism Magazine (ITM), London and the media regarded the event as the largest Islamic tourism exhibition in the world and a primer Islamic travel & tourism event providing four days of intensive meetings, seminars, press conferences and social networking opportunities.
It has also been one of the world's best performing in Islamic tourism and some of the new projects announced in recent times in the Middle East were launched during this event. Against this background, it is events such as The International Islamic Expo that will provide the necessary impetus for the industry to move forward.
The event successfully attracted around a thousand travel and hotel industry professionals and representatives from the transport industry, catering companies, financial institutions and some 25000 visitors from 72 countries worldwide.
The International Islamic Expo is a meeting point where tourism practitioners, Umra-Hajj policy makers, business people and sellers and buyers from various countries meet for promoting business exchange and networking. Travel professionals benefit immensely, while their international counterparts get a first hand insight into the policies and projects being planned
International Islamic Expo is endorsed by the Travel Associations from, ASEAN Countries; PATA (Thailand) ASITA (Indonesia) AMPUHRI (Indonesia) BUMITRA (Malaysia), AMTAS (Singapore) DHSB (Brunei) BATA (Brunei) and fully supported by The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Republic of Indonesia.
At the closing ceremony Mr Joko Asmoro, CEO announced the next annual global event: International Islamic Expo 2009 scheduled on 12th - 15th February, 2009 in Jakarta - Indonesia. Eighty percent of the international booths were sold out during the course of the event.
