Exciting Activities At Muscat Festival

Ministry Of Tourism E-Newsletter: Muscat Municipality has finalised months of intense preparations to launch the Sultanate’s largest annual event, The Muscat Festival 2008.
From January 21 to February 15, the city of Muscat is transformed as it plays host to an array of exciting events and activities across a number of key venues. For the first time, the recently re-developed Al Sahwa Gardens, will host an important part of the festival, focused on ‘the family’.
Set on an area of about 300,000 square metres, the gardens have been designed to give visitors a chance to relax in beautifully landscaped surroundings while being able to enjoy a wealth of activities.
Qurum National Park will again play host to many of the festival’s events and the whole area has been renovated ready for the wide range of activities planned for the site. The centre piece is the open-air theatre which will be able to seat more than 2,500 people.
The Muscat Festival promises to offer visitors an exciting array of activities which will capture everyone’s imagination, provide lasting memories. There will be amazing theatrical shows, performances by internationally acclaimed musicians, family entertainment events and even displays of models of the Eiffel Tower, The Pyramids of Egypt and the Taj Mahal.
The Global Village will play host to a wide range of fun-filled events. These include international and local craft exhibitions, sports events, cultural and handicraft demonstrations.
