Travel Trade Gazette InterContinental Doha, Qatar, is celebrating the world famous Bavarian festival known as Oktoberfest, for the third year running.
This two-day event will take place on September 14 and 15, and will be held at InterContinental Doha in a tent positioned on the extensive beachfront of the hotel.
For this occasion, InterContinental Doha is flying in an authentic folk band straight from Bavaria. Accompanying the Bavarian atmosphere and music will be an array of German food and specialty drinks. The buffet will include hand-made sausages created by a German chef, also flown in especially for this two-day festival.
“We are looking forward to welcoming the German community and those interested in keeping the spirit of Oktoberfest alive to this year’s celebrations. InterContinental Doha is proud to support cultural events and bring world-class entertainment to the residents of Doha,” commented general manager, InterContinental Doha, Martin van Kan.
Still classed as one of the most popular festivals in Europe, nearly six million people visit the Munich Oktoberfest every year. “The German Embassy is glad to support this fantastic event once again after last year’s success and hopes that the Oktoberfest 2006 at the InterContinental Doha will once more bring together people from many different nationalities here in Qatar to celebrate this classic Bavarian tradition in unique ‘Doha style’,” commented public relations department in the German Embassy, Marisa Kollenberg. |
