Reuters 4th January, 2004
Tourism in Nepal increased 23 percent in 2003 over a year ago, helped by
a seven-month truce
in a bloody Maoist revolt aimed at toppling the monarchy.

also helped by celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the first ascent
of Mount Everest in 1953.
