Kenya Airways has added a new Embraer jet to its fleet.
Registered as 5Y-KYR, the E190 touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport yesterday at 2100 from Sao Jose dos Campos, Embraer Headquarters in Brazil.
As the KYR made its way to Nairobi, another Kenya Airways E190 made its maiden test flight in Brazil and is expected to be delivered to Nairobi by next month.
KYR is expected into service within the next two weeks and will be deployed to operate to the South, Central and North Africa regions.
The 96-seater features 12 business class seats and modern IFE with individual touchscreens.
The third Embraer E190 arrival is in fulfillment of an order that the airline placed last year. The first jet was delivered in December 2010 with the second jet joining in June.
The airline now has five E170s and three E190s, wih two more E190s to be delivered, one of which is expected in a few weeks. |
