ITM : Promoting Ethical Tourism At International Exhibitions

ITM is the only magazine focusing on the Muslim world which has made it presence felt at large and small tourism exhibitions throughout the world. Its stand has promoted the cultural face of Islam from China to Mexico.

Our magazine attracted a lot of attention at Dubai’s ATM, London’s WTM and Berlin’s ITB. But we also support small exhibitions and encourage developing tourist destinations.

The issues of ITM are full with news and reports of travel fairs world wide. Some of these fairs accepted ITM as a media partner or had barter deals with it. The stands of ITM in these fairs are visited by large numbers of people in the tourism and travel business, as well as by people who are intrigued by the concept of Islamic Tourism. It is a new and challenging approach, with its emphasis on the ethical dimension of tourism, and we are proud to promote ethics-based tourism.

We had a strong presence in the WTM and our stand was visited by many important figures in the tourism industry, especially in the media sector. Interesting ideas were discussed during these meetings and we may announce in the near future the expansion of our cooperation with leading players in the tourism and travel media.

Our lead story in this issue is the publishing of ITM in the German language. It has been a dream of the publisher to establish contact with Germany again after studying there some 50 years ago. It is also another sign of confidence in the concept of Islamic Tourism and the need to spread the word in more languages to build bridges between the Islamic and non-Islamic world.

We think we have contributed a lot through ITM and its website (www.islamictourism.com) towards the promotion and encouragement of tourism in the Islamic world and world wide. It is now the turn of these countries to support ITM and its website.
