FOUR-DAY SRI LANKA EID-BREAKS IN FIVE-STAR COMFORT FOR AS LITTLE AS $250

“Comprehensive Tour Itinerary Covers Key Tourist Attractions” -

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau’s (SLTPB) Middle East office announced value for money Eid breaks for regional travelers offering five-star comfort ranging from as little as $250 per person for a four-day break to $950 for a 15-day break.

The attractive holiday packages include accommodation in five-star and four-star rated properties together with welcome meet & assist service at the Colombo Airport, hotel transfers, city tours and sightseeing with certified English-speaking tour guides and accommodation on a twin share basis together with inter-continental breakfast.

Announcing the packages, Ms. Heba Al Ghais Al Mansoori, Middle East Director of SLTPB said, “This is a new dimension for regional travelers who want to stretch their vacation dollars during these recessionary times and still avail a five-star holiday.”

Ms Al Mansoori noted that consistent weather, family-friendly beaches and attractions, top class accommodation and dining options, cultural sites, entertainment and shopping are some of the key factors that draw modern day Arab travelers to their preferred destinations and Sri Lanka offers a good product that scores on all counts and is less than four hours flying time away from the Gulf.

There are a variety of packages to choose from starting with a four-day package* for $250 with comprehensive tours of Colombo, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Bentota, Beruwela and Galle among others. For those who prefer to do a more comprehensive and longer stay, there is a 15-day break for $950.

The packages are designed to save travelers around 50 percent off the price of traveling the same itinerary individually and are valid till October 31st 2009. Also included are some guided tours that offer an ideal, hassle-free way of exploring Sri Lanka’s key attractions. English-speaking tour guides, professionally chauffeured, deluxe, air-conditioned coaches for maximum comfort and convenience plus time free to explore the destination form part of the itinerary.

Hotels included in the packages range from four-star to five-star such as Trans Asia Hotel, Galadari Hotel, Ceylon Continental Hotel, Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Kandy Amaya Hills Mahaweli Reach Hotel, Earl’s Regency Hotel, Nuwara Eliya Grand Hotel, Golf Wing Grand Hotel, Golf Wing Tea Factory Hotel, Kani Lanka Resort & Spa, Riverina Hotel, Royal Palms Beach Hotel, Eden Resort & Spa, Blue Waters, Taj Exotica and Heritance Ahungalle among others.

Trips include a visit to the Temple of the Tooth Relic, sightseeing tours of Kandy Lake and the market area followed by a cultural dance performance in Kandy; a visit to the botanical gardens in Peradeniya; a visit to the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela; an elephant safari; visit to a spice garden to see different spices; tour of Colombo; a visit to the Fort & Pettah areas, the old parliament building, Galle face green, the independence square & the town hall; shopping malls in Colombo such as Odel and House of Fashion as well as time free to explore the country.

Sri Lanka offers diversity within easy reach in a small island. Among the many soubriquets showered upon this tiny island include Serendipity, Ceylon, Teardrop of India, Resplendent Isle, Island of Dharma and  Pearl of the Indian Ocean to name a few and none comes even close to articulate the true beauty and old world charm of Sri Lanka.

Tourists from around the world visit Sri Lanka every year in search of a perfect holiday ranging from nature, culture, adventure, education, healing and spiritual discovery to a relaxing spa holiday.

Post-war tourism arrivals to Sri Lanka from the Middle East have surged by a remarkable 85% as an increasing number of travelers from the region visited the island nation.
