A local hospitality training institute is likely to play a significant role in providing training to Kuwaiti nationals, under a special human resources development programme of the Government of Kuwait.
A Kuwaiti government delegation, headed by Hind Al Subeeh, Assistant General Secretary, Manpower and Government Restructuring Program of the State of Kuwait, visited Bahrain Institute of Hospitality Management (BIHM) to explore the possibilities of setting up a training centre to provide training in tourism, hospitality, travel and retail sectors in Kuwait.
The training program will be modeled after the BIHM.
The five-member delegation was highly pleased with the standard of BIHM, and expressed that similar facilities could be replicated in Kuwait.
She also said that she would encourage the participation of the private sector and business community for setting up a collaborative model like BIHM in Kuwait.
Khalil Al Obaidat, Administration Manager of Ernst & Young, Bahrain, who also accompanied the Kuwaiti delegation, expressed hope that the BIHM will be able to set up franchised centres in Kuwait, so as to enable the Kuwaiti jobseekers to get employment in tourism, hospitality, travel and retail sectors. Commenting on the visit of the Kuwaiti team, N. M. Rafique, Executive Director of BIHM said that "BIHM will be willing to provide all the assistance to the government of Kuwait in developing its Manpower and Government Restructuring Programme, and to help the private sector." |
