More tourist firms in Kyrgyzstan

www.eurasianet.orgBishkek, Over the past ten years the number of tourist  firms in Kyrgyzstan increased from 10 to 250. The  Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev stated at the Bishkek international tourism forum that tourism may become a priority  sector  of economy for the state, as the country has all the resources required to develop a  modern tourism industry. It is ideal for  ecological tourism and cultural tourism as well as for local and foreign investors.

The President said that this year the government submitted to  parliament proposals on exemptions for tourism agencies from paying income taxes, and the Ministry of  Finance has worked out new concept of taxation for tourism organizations,
and promotion  of investments. Another  proposal of the President foresees the  introduction  of a simplified entry  visa regime and non-visa regime for certain countries.
