This adds to an extraordinary line-up of wins for New Zealand over the past few months, including accolades for New Zealand tourism operators in Condé Nast Traveler, Travel and Leisure and Andrew Harper’s Hideaway Report, and readers voting New Zealand third-best country in the Condé Nast Traveller Awards last month.
The Telegraph accolade was announced at a recent awards ceremony in London, where New Zealand knocked Italy - winning destination for the past four consecutive years - off the top spot.
“New Zealand is sizzling hot at the moment,’ says Claire Willingham, Tourism New Zealand Representative in the Gulf Countries. “We are just thrilled at the number of awards and the media coverage we have had this year so far, and travellers from the UAE reached a record high this summer.
